Lions Win Fifth Straight
LANCASTER, Texas -- Dallas College Mountain View volleyball team won its fifth straight match, sweeping host Dallas College Cedar Valley Thursday. The Lions beat the Suns 25-20, 25-18, 25-17 to even the season series.
Mountain View has won three straight Dallas Athletic Conference matches, with wins over No. 14 Dallas College North Lake and Dallas College Richland during the five-match win streak.
The Lions improved to 7-22 overall, 3-5 in the DAC. Cedar Valley fell to 3-22, 1-7.
Mountain View hit a season high .276, putting away 38 kills in 87 swings. Madisyn Moore had 13 kills, a .458 attack percentage and a block. Destinee Johnson had nine kills and a .438 hitting percentage. Sydnei Pena had seven kills and 12 digs. Bryanna Bowman had 21 assists, two aces and 12 digs. Kahmya Rice had 15 assists and three aces. Skylar Daniels finished with 19 digs and two aces.
The Lions hit .269 in the opening set and polished off the sweep with a .370 attack rate in the third.
Mountain View will play at No. 10 Dallas College Brookhaven 6 p.m. Monday before wrapping up the regular season at home against No. 1 Dallas College Eastfield 6 p.m. Thursday.
