Mountain View Wins First DAC Match
IRVING, Texas -- Dallas College Mountain View's volleyball team swept No. 14 Dallas College North Lake 25-19, 25-23, 25-21 Thursday night.
It was the Lions' first Dallas Athletic Conference win.
Mountain View (3-22, 1-5 DAC) hit .333 in the opening set and .250 in the third, and held the Blazers (10-12, 3-3) to a .087 attack percentage.
Madisyn Moore had 10 kills and three blocks for the Lions. Nyah Bumpas had nine kills, and hit .300. Skylar Daniels had 21 digs. Natalie Torres had 13 digs and two aces. Bryanna Bowman had 18 assists and 10 digs. Kahmya Rice had 17 assists and three aces. Sydnei Pena had 16 digs and six kills. Destinee Johnson had nine kills.
North Lake's Sandy Cortes and Kynlee Rion each had seven kills. Ava Mendez had 18 digs. Katie Lloyd had 14 digs.
Both teams had four blocks. Mountain View finished with seven aces, while North Lake had four.
The Lions will host Rose State College 2 p.m. Saturday before returning to DAC play 6 p.m. Monday versus Dallas College Richland.
