Washington Named Lions New Women's Basketball Coach
DALLAS – Dallas College Mountain View has named Kristi Washington as head women's basketball coach.
"We are excited to welcome Coach Washington to the Mountain View family," Mountain View Athletic Director Keitha Dickerson said. "Kristi brings a strong vision for the future of our program, along with a passion for developing student-athletes both on and off the court. Her leadership, integrity and commitment to excellence make her the ideal person to lead our women's basketball program."
Washington was an assistant coach with Mountain View in 2025-26. Prior to that, she spent three years as an assistant coach at Greenhill School in Addison, Texas. She spent three years as the freshman and sophomore head coach at Clark High School in Plano, Texas from 2014-17. From 2008-14, she was a varsity assistant coach at Frisco Liberty High School. Prior to that, she was the head coach at North Garland High School from 2006-08. She was an assistant for one year before taking over as the head coach at North Garland. "Becoming the head women's basketball coach here at Dallas College Mountain View is an amazing opportunity for me to cultivate a transformative and impactful program that prioritizes discipline, consistency, character and integrity, and those values will drive our talent and motivation," Washington said. "I hope to instill a championship mentality that will prepare our young ladies for life beyond basketball, empowering them to become confident, resilient leaders in the community, into their four-year universities and all the way to their chosen careers. Words cannot express my gratitude and excitement to collaborate more with A.D. Dickerson and our great athletic department to establish a culture of high standards and lasting success."
Washington helped guide the Lions this past season as Dickerson transitions out of coaching into an administrative role within Mountain View athletics. She was part of a coaching staff that competed in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III South Central District Championship game.
"Coach Washington brings a dynamic presence and a proven ability to build a culture centered on accountability, discipline and growth," Dickerson said. "Her dedication to fostering success in the classroom, in competition and in the community aligns perfectly with the mission of Dallas College Athletics. Our goal was to find a transformational leader who could elevate our program and create meaningful opportunities for our student-athletes. In Kristi Washington, we found exactly that. We are confident she will make an immediate and lasting impact."
