DeMarcco Owens was named an assistant men's basketball coach at Dallas College Mountain View in 2024-25.

He assists with on-court coaching and player development, in addition to administrative duties.

Owens was part of a staff that coached a team that went 6-24 overall, 1-14 in the Dallas Athletic Conference in the 2025-26 season. Kaden Richardson was named the DAC Offensive Player of the Year, as well as earning First Team All-DAC honors after scoring 17.3 points per game. He was second in the league in scoring, while Lions teammate Anthony Cook was third at 17.0 points per game. Cook was a Second Team All-DAC pick.

In Owens' first year with the program in 2024-25, the Lions advanced to the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III National Tournament. They captured their first NJCAA Division III South Central District title since 2011, knocking off the top two seeds in back-to-back rounds. The Lions beat No. 15 nationally-ranked Dallas College Richland 94-85 in the district championship game. They went 15-20 on the season. Sophomore swingman Ashton Price was named an NJCAA Division III Second Team All-American.
