Mountain View Captures First DAC Win
LANCASTER, Texas – Dallas College Mountain View beat Dallas College Cedar Valley 101-97 Wednesday night in a return to Dallas Athletic Conference men's basketball action.
The Lions (6-12, 1-3 DAC) picked up their first road win of the season, while also notching their first conference win.
Cedar Valley (3-13, 0-4) led by a point at halftime, but the Lions outscored the Suns 57-52 in the second half to pull out the victory.
Mountain View's Kaden Richardson scored a season-high 35 points on 13-of-14 shooting. He was 7 for 7 from the three-point line, and had four rebounds, four assists and three steals. Jordan Wright added 20 points off the bench, going 7 for 13 from the field.
The Lions shot 50 percent from 3-point range, going 15 of 30. The Suns also hit 50 percent of their triple tries, going 7 of 14. Cedar Valley was 20 for 24 from the free throw stripe, while Mountain View went 12 for 16.
Mountain View's Anthony Cook had 16 points, six rebounds and two steals. Demondray Spencer and Parker Overstreet each had eight points. Overstreet also grabbed five rebounds.
Cedar Valley's Larry Lyons scored a career-best 32 points off the bench on 11-of-16 shooting. He was 9 for 11 from the free throw line. J'Ylon Nobles also had a career high, finishing with 23 points, 12 rebounds, six assists and two steals, while shooting 9 for 15 from the floor. His 12 boards also were a career high. Jordyn Johnson had 14 points, and Aviyon Bell 11 points and four steals.
Mountain View plays at Dallas College Brookhaven 1 p.m. Saturday. Cedar Valley hosts No. 10 Dallas College Eastfield.
