Mountain View Lands 7 on All-DAC Baseball Teams

DALLAS – Dallas College Mountain View baseball players Cooper Scott, Diego Washington, Matthew Reynozo and Santiago Aravena received First Team All-Dallas Athletic Conference honors.

Micah Gregory, Noah Castillo and Adrien Varela were voted Second Team All-DAC winners.

A first baseman, Scott batted .337 with 11 home runs, 12 doubles, a triple, 57 runs batted in and 13 stolen bases. He was named the DAC Hitter of the Week twice.

Washington, an outfielder, hit .339 with 10 homers, nine doubles, two triples, 51 RBI and 21 stolen bases.

A right-handed pitcher, Reynozo went 5-4 with a 5.58 earned run average and 62 strikeouts in 59.2 innings over 16 appearances and eight starts. He picked up two long-outing wins to end the regular season, tossing 16 innings, allowing four runs and striking out 13 to cement his case.

A right-handed reliever, Aravena was 1-2 with three saves, a 4.78 ERA and 53 strikeouts in 22 appearances with 37.2 innings pitched.

Gregory, a catcher, batted .318 with five home runs, seven doubles, three triples and 30 RBI.

An outfielder, Castillo hit .371 with a homer, 11 doubles, 26 RBI and 16 stolen bases.

Varela, an outfielder, batted .374 with six home runs, 12 doubles, a triple, 49 RBI and nine stolen bass.

The Lions won a school-record 22 games, and reached the South Central District semifinal.
