Scott Picked as DAC Hitter of Week

IRVING, Texas – Dallas College Mountain View's Cooper Scott was named the Dallas Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week.

It is the second time this year he's won the award.

A sophomore first baseman from Austin, Texas, Scott went 8 for 15 with two doubles, a home run, eight RBI and a stolen base as Mountain View won two of three games against No. 4 nationally-ranked Dallas College North Lake last week. He had multiple hits in each of the three games, twice collecting three hits. Scott was 3 for 4 with an RBI in a 7-5 win to begin the series. He went 3 for 6 with an RBI and a stolen base in the 8-7 loss in Game 2. In the series finale, he was 2 for 5 with a double, a homer and four RBI. His four RBI matched his career high.

Scott is batting .376 with a team-high eight home runs and 37 RBI, five doubles, a triple and five stolen bases this season.

Following Monday's doubleheader at Nelson University Junior Varsity, the Lions (11-18, 4-8 DAC) are scheduled to begin a three-game series at Dallas College Cedar Valley (9-21) at noon Wednesday. Thursday's game is scheduled to be featured as the DAC Sports Network Game of the Week, weather permitting.
